It has no discussion of space or materials.
It has no respect for us readers.
This is a brazen attempt to gain street cred, as they say, for a pimp. Here is crappy furnishing from one nasty schlockmeister. Ms. Marting is just a cheap hawker. Save your money for true design books.
I am sorry to have to trash anybody's work, because I am certain that many fine professional people were involved in this failed effort. They hold no blame.
Please try Taunton Press for the real deal.

This book has nothing to do with creating rooms, it is about the author trying to sell furniture. Very Poor!!!

I agree with the guy who said it's just an ad for the author's store. It read exactly like a catalogue. In fact, at one point, I actually caught myself checking the page for the price on an item that I liked. There were no ideas for how to design an outdoor space. It was simply a book promoting the merchandise sitting IN the outdoor space. Save your money. Buy a real book, not a catalogue.

I received this book and can hardly believe how beautiful the photography is! Terry Richardson is very talented and the pictures inspire one to go and create their own outdoor room. Leeda Marting has a keen grasp of the garden setting and how to expand it into one's living space. The beauty of this book makes it well worth double the price. I would highly recommend this book!

Having waited for a few months for "Creating Outdoor Rooms" to be published, I was excited to receive it in today's mail. Back it goes...If you have enjoyed looking through Charleston Garden's catalog, Ms Marting being the owner of that shop, then I would suggest you continue to subscribe to her catalog for free and "pass" on purchasing this book. "Creating Outdoor Rooms" appears to be nothing more than the products Ms Marting sells at her store re-presented in hardback form and embellished by minimal and superficial text. I am surprised she did not include the prices on each page. This is a hugely disappointing publication from a person whose talent and creativity appear to be well-represented in her shop and catalog, but should be above insulting readers who are truly looking for an informative book on creating outdoor rooms. Her free catalog does a much better job without the exorbitant price tag attached.
